Default I inquired about this and they said that they currently do not work on the side mirrors. My driver
side no longer dims at the lower portion of the mirror.

Everyone experiences different symptoms - the overall effect is that it doesn't dim evenly at night.

so how do you take the mirror off with out breaking the windshield? any tech writeups?

Well, I tried. They won't send the compass mirror instead, only exact replacement. Worth a shot...

Default junk yards sell the newer style (B6) w/ compass for $90-100
they're made by a different company and don't have the leak issues that ours do.
