Road & Track review
Didn't anyone else pick up the newest (September?) issue of Road & Track down in Monterey besides me?
Full review (very positive, some minor errors) of the S4, including fairly detailed, although estimated, pricing. I don't have it with me but they had the base price under $38,000 (sometime like $37,800) and with the 3 main options (cold weather, convenience, and bose) the total came in at ~$41,750.

Got Oct R&T and some observations
The article features an Imola yellow S4. Pictures show the carbon-fibre trim with the Silver leather, yet the article says it has the alcantara seating. Huh?
Production: 4,000-5,000 per year.
Aluminum block? I thought it was cast iron.
redline @ 68,000 rpm
Tire are P-Zeros, not the Potenza RE040's.
Estimated prices are:
Base price $37,900
convienence $1,200
bose $1,200
cold weather $575
luxury tax $324
destination $525
0-60 5.5 sec
0-1/4 14.1 @98.5
60-0 121 ft
For those with M3 envy, the article shows the Saab Viggen and the Volvo T5 as the competion. No mention of M3, but with the acceleration of 5.5 secs, says it puts it in the league with M coupe, Camaro SS, SVT Cobra, and the Carrera 4 Cabrio.

Hybrid eval S4's...
The car in the Road & Track review, as well as the car down at the historics, seems to be a MY2000 European car with the US emissions/engine:
- the tach is in increments of 10*100 rather than 1*1000 (as in the S4 US brochure)
- the interior beltline trim is the aluminum trim not available in the US
- other minor details
