RS4 Clutch Question

RS4 Clutch Question
I finally had my RS4 clutch installed. The SAC was properly adjusted and double checked. The engagement and disengagement feels fine to me, but the very bottom of the pedal (maybe the last half inch at most) is pretty stiff/springy feeling. I really only have to push hard on the pedal to start the car, otherwise everything seems okay to me. I have not gone WOT yet as I only have ~150 miles on the clutch and am trying to gently break it in. Should I be concerned about the pedal feel? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice. I have STFA but cannot find what I am looking for.

That does sound like a bad SAC
search my user name on this and you should find a bunch of stuff - i was unfortuately one of the first to get a badly misaligned PP installed...live and learn

Second on the SAC.
I'll bet the installer just looked at it and sasys it was fine. Find out if it was reset. To confirm: WOT in 6th will slip. Then you have to drop the tranny, take out the clutch, reset SAC (NB: need hydraulic press or reasonable facsimile), and reinstall it.

I found your stuff before the install...
I printed it out and printed out the clutch servicing section from the service manual. The place swears up and down that the SAC indeed had to be reset out of the box and that it was exactly as pictured and described after they aligned it. Is it okay to go WOT after only 150 miles to check if it slips? Would it slip in stock mode or only in chipped mode? Thanks for the help guys.

There should be no sponginess, hard to press near the floor.
This is abnormal and needs correction. A good shop will not try to pass this off as a good install. It is exactly what would happen with a poorly set SAC, and I do not know what else it could be. It is okay to try WOT for a short time. I will only take a few seconds (less with the chip).

FWIW - i fried my clutch several times at WOT etc., before i realized the problem
I then reinstalled a new pressure plate and the same clutch (that had slipped 4 or 5 times pretty bad).
I have about 15,000 3- miles on the setup and 5,000 ASP stage 3 miles with no problems since.
Don't sweat it too bad - you will get it worked out.

Can be readjusted - probably actually better
Piggie took mine back and gave me a new one because we were not sure what hte problem was.
It took 5,000 too get rid of some slight chatter during light engagement which i have always chalked up to being mismatched PP and clutch.
You will be great if you reset the SAC and reinstall.
