What is keeping Audi from selling the S4 Avant here in the states. The wagon market is booming now, and they would be way ahead of the game if they would sell the S4 Avant, rather than have people look to the volvo turbo wagons ect.

I wrote the same message to Audi-USA, but no answer from them! Also, the same question can be asked for RS4 with 380hp.

I have 98 Avant and do love this car so much.
But I am selling it to get an S4, can not wait for things that not sure about being sold here.

Remember that the A4 Avant showed up 2 years after the A4, and the A6 Avant arrived after the new A6. There are very strong rumors coming directly from Audi that they want to bring over some sporty wagons. I personally suspect that the S4 Avant and A6 2.7T Avant will accompany the Allroad next fall. The S6 sedan may arrive as well, but I doubt that the S6 Avant or the A6 4.2 Avant will be here next fall. If the S6 sedan sells well, then they may bring over the Avant later. Unless the Allroad is a smash hit, I don't think there is any chance for the A6 4.2 Avant because it is too similar.

Their product planning manager stated, reluctantly off the record that we'll probably see it next year.

Audi made mention of getting into the "sport" wagon market and the S4 Avant and All-Road would be two new vehicles to do that.
