Default S4 wheels

I'm interested in a set of S4 wheels for my A4 1.8T Avant Quattro

How can I get it?

Default Sorry, potential fitment problem...

Your A4 has an offset of 45mm, exactly the same as the S4's. With the additional width of the S4's wheels and the same offset, the S4 rims would stick out beyond the fender. At minimum, your tires will be right under the fender and thus potential rubbing problems.

Default No, exactly the opposite....

If you use a 17 x 7.5 wheel with +45mm offset on the A4, you will actually run the risk of rubbing the upper control arm WAY before you get close to the fender. On the A4, going from the stock 45mm offset wheel to an inch wider 17" wheel, you have to lower the offset to 35mm to maintain clearance between the tire and the upper control arm.

Trust me on this one.

Actually, come to think of it, 225/45/17's on the 7.5" wide S4 wheels might just barely make it. I'm willing to bet that you'll have a couple millimeters of clearance from the control arm in front, but you will probably be just touching the one in the rear.

If you put 225/50/16 tires on your stock 16 x 7 wheels, you will see the same thing. Can barely fit the tip of a woman's pinky in between the tire and the control arm in front, and forget about it in the rear. Less than 3mm clearance.

Default Another thought....

You could run the S4 wheels with 225 tires with a 5mm spacer. That would work.

Default OTOH, they might fit...

if there's enough room to clear the upper control arm, which I think is more likely to rub than the fender.

The S4 wheels are only 0.5" wider, so it just might fit an A4 if there is an extra 0.25" (6mm) or so clearance. I guess we'll find out soon (after the S4s are delivered).

Default Re:Avus wheels

If the s4 wheels don't fit, what other rims do you
recommend for my car?

Default Re: So the answer would be ...

Hi,

I am wondering the same question too. But from reading all the previous posts about this topic I still didn't get a definite answer. Will S4 wheel fit on an A4 post any problem ?

Thanks.
