Default silly shifting problem.......

This sounds totally stupid, but the revs jump up between gears when I'm upshifting. At first, I thought I might not be getting off of the throttle soon enough before I push in the clutch. It even happens when I'm extra careful with my shifting, though. The problem is exaggerated when I'm accelerating hard and the higher the revs are taken before shifting. I know that I'm a pretty decent driver and I do NOT have this problem with other cars that I drive regularly.

Does anyone else ever experience this problem? I'm pretty annoyed and kinda perplexed. I think that the car has always behaved like this. I pride myself with the fact that I AM a good driver of manual transmissions. Understandably, to have problems like this are embarrassing and irritating.

Thanks for any feedback.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like a new clutch may be in order.

Default Hmm, that's weird. I almost wouldn't think so......

It holds fine. The revs only jump up AFTER I PUSH THE CLUTCH PEDAL IN. So...... I feel like and idiot, but I don't believe it's me. Maybe it's just the nature of the car. Could the flywheel really have that much momentum that it wants to keep revving even after throttle is released and the clutch is disengaged (in that order!)? Pain in the *** car...... :-)

Default Oh, damn! Like what?!!??!

It sucks, because most of the time I drive my car in traffic, so I can't even launch half-way hard or rev the car out in ANY gear because I'll end up smashing the car in front of me or end up with a ticket. The more power you have, the less often it gets used...... :-(
