smoke coming from back of the engine passanger side and i need to drive 300 miles tonight

do you smell burning oil ? if so, its most likely a leaky valve cover gasket ...
dripping down onto the exhaust manifold and smoking. Definitely something you want to have fixed, but as long as your oil level is OK, you should be fine to drive it.
