SOS PO300 Code!
'00 S4 2.7T B5 with 146,000 miles. I'm getting the PO300 multi-cylinder misfire and have replaced spark plugs (NGK PFR6Q). Runs worse now than before! Seems that the cylinder miss is between 2 and 3k RPM's and really down on power. Dealer made a note on the last service I had that the car needs both ignition control modules and injector seals. Can't see that injector seals would be the culprit but I'm wondering about the ICM's. Before I invest several hundred dollars I'd like to hear from others with what they would suggest.
Been working on this problem with my 2000 S4 for a while and getting nowhere and frustrated. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks,

I dont see the modules being able to cause that issue, they fail with a dead misfire.. What kind of scan tool are you using? Can you see live data? A lean condition may take many drive cycles to finally flag a code. Running lean with cause multiple cylinder misfires, like a big air leak or bad maf sensor.

Thanks and I'll check out the air leaks and the MAF sensor. I did find a vacuum leak couple of weeks ago in the engine where a mechanic who worked on the car wrapped a couple of lines together with electrical tape. Nice gift! Thought that would take care of the mis-firing but unfortunately didn't. Is it worth trying to clean the MAF sensor or just purchase a new one? Any way to test for an air leak or is it hit or miss?
The only way I have to scan the engine is with an ikkegol OBD scanner and my iPad. I have two apps I've uses and they are OBD Fusion or Dash Commander. I'm wondering if I should have spent the money on scanning unit from say ECS or other aftermarket company instead? More money, more information? Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
