Default Steering feel B5 S4 vs C5 A6

I have a 2000 A6 2.7t auto with 152k on it in great shape.

I'm buying a 2002 S4 6mt with 84,000 miles on it. Everything was great about the car except the steering felt heavy to me. It was significantly (but not crazy) heavier than my A6 and seemed like it pulled/returned itself to neutral much more quickly than my car. Also it was just slightly more difficult to turn the wheel clockwise than counterclockwise.

Has anyone here driven both a B5 S4 and an C5? Is the S4 just a heavier steering feeling car? Could the steering rack be going? Could the car just need an alignment (car tracked fine and true when my hands were off the wheel, even up to 75 mph). Do these things do that when they lose power steering fluid?

I'm getting a solid enough deal on the car I wouldn't be mad even if I had to change the steering rack, I'm just wondering if this car is normal.

Any one know? Thanks in advance.
