billdapart, thanks for the write-up. I hope you don't mind if I grab your text for my "guide"?

Jon, the snub mount is located between the motor and the radiator, near the bottom and just off the center towards the passenger side of the car. It is just a big rubber thing mounted on a ****. Its job is to dampen the forward motion of the motor. The most common replacement is made by APR - this is just a doughnut shaped piece of harder plastic that replaces the "squishier" stock mount. I think you can get it for under $50.

I doubt the knocking is a problem with the mounts. Even a bad mount won't let the engine or drivetrain move around enough to cause knocking. Most likely you have something else that is loose.
I agree with this, I had the same issue when I would take off I would feel a clunking from somewhere below my shifting ****. Turned out to be the center support bearing on the driveshaft. Rubber wears causing it to clunk and not handle torque smoothly.
Idk just an idea could be wrong.
