Default Torque converters...

Just got an S4 and of course it needs a torque converter. Did a bunch of research and I am not a newbie to cars/repairs. found a website (http://www.gopnh.com) and talked to them for a while, sounds like they know their stuff and make a good product, and a 400 over stock stall converter is only 323 shipped with a 100 dollar core, haven't found anywhere that can match that price. And they will custom make it to whatever you needs may be. Just thought I would throw that out there for anyone looking.

Also have a question for everyone. I have one of the HID lights on my car that is really dim. the other is fine and brights are good. I am going to replace the ballast to that light unless anyone has a different idea. This is my first experience with HID's, also it flickers somewhat when it first turns on... if that helps.

custom torque converter builds you get what you pay for i think ecs had a write up about how some of these places would just tape over vent holes to increase pressure and paint it a new color, check out level10 i think theirs is 600

hi I just thought I might share my experience with you about upgrading TC... I had it gone bad and took it to a transmission shop up in XX(Near my school)for a repair and they really f*ed it up and the TC was throwing code again and that happened right after 3months(out of service warranty) and they never did anything to fix the matter. I took my broken S4 to a different place down in VA, now my car is so smooth and its been about 2 years and still running great! The shop took a new stock T/C and welded around fully with every fin to support my Stg3 set up and it work nicely I think.

The VA shop told me whoever did the last tranny job, he used everything used parts and the most importantly the part(I forgot the name..) that shouldv been new from the dealer was used part and it failed. The XX tranny shop told me they used everything new when they worked on my tranny and keep bragging about their 30years of experience and bla bla bla...

Here is the bottom line.

I paid $2500 for T/C upgrade - got ****ed!! (hard clunking movmnt from tranny and soon failed. Only 3months 3000miles warranty)

I paid $4000 for T/C upgrade - got milk!! (Same smoothness as the stock one may be some soft clunking during couple months but that went away after 6 months. 2 years 24000 miles warranty)

yes Im working to pay off the money Iv wasted... Just for an advice if you haven't paid for the job, ask them about the warranty.
