Gearing up to do an 01' A6 Avant Q tranny swap. Anyone done one before? Any tips? I think im just gonna go for it. But cant find any threads on here where someone has done one. Any tips would be apreciated.

Im doin a 00 s4 tip to 6 speed, its pretty good till u get to wires, which is where im stuck, check out s4wiki and I think theirs a forum post on maybe a audiforums or somethin with.a write up

Yea start saving man, the kits out there are just the half of it, you run into a lot of, "well it's out, might as well change it", moments , labor wise if your turbos are ko3 you should change them, going from tip to 6 speed is gona bring them a lot more abuse, new ko3/4s, hybrids, tials, gts w/e it's a worth while effort, add all the fun lil maintenance things, frayed hoses, things you break trying to change the other broken thing, all said and done I'd say expect to shell out 8 to 10k to do a stg3 with the swap,, vs 5k for the swap, all this is with out labor, which would be at least 30 to 40 hours at a good, knowledgeable shop that knows or better specializes in Audi custom work, which is another 4k , so make sure you know and can handle whatnyour getting into, cause I'm a year into this one, and it's definatly a lot, but if you think you can do it I say go for it , 100% worth it
