Anyone have used upper control arms which have bad inner bushings, but good outer balljoints.
We need all four uppers, then we'll push in Prothane inner bushings.
He's totally bummed, so any help would be appreciated...his uppers are shot, and can't afford anything but shipping.
Thanks!

He may be talking about the K-Mac camber-adjustable bushings....
as long as the outter boots on the CAs are fine, he can just replace the inner bushings with these. But the questions is, how much longer will the outter boots/joint last consider the inner bushing is already shot. IMO, he is better off to just buy a new set and not have to worry about it in the future.

he's thinking of selling a car b/c of CAs?
Just the depreciation alone when he sells the car is more than what control arms cost. But if minor repairs and maintenance like that are a big deterrent to him then this definitely is not the car for him. Seriously, the car is fun and all but to some it's worth the money and hassle (ie to me).

You know how it goes...it's just been one thing after another and I think he finally lost it.
It was one of those: "I just put $1,500 into it two days ago, and now this...I can't take it anymore!"
If we can just get his car rolling again, he'll get his groove back.

More charity parts needed...oh, this is bad! Need a CA Mounting Bracket too..Passenger side

Wow...the goofball mechanic destroyed the passenger side upper control arm mount bracket "the hat" by torquing two of the three M10 x 62mm top bolts to well over 85lb and shredded the mount bracket threads (we had to use a breaker bar to get them loose)...what part of 55ftlb didn't he get? He even thru-bolted the third one with 5...yes 5 washers on top.
I'm assuming the driver's side has been damaged too since they were also over torqued. The deeper we dig, the worse it gets...
So far the combination of the mechanics incompetence and his installation of cheap China made half-shafts has destroyed all four adjustable camber upper CAs ($700), two performance tires ($400), the upper strut assembly mount brackets ($136 each), and probably the wheel bearings ($125), along with whatever else we find as we take it apart.
The "mechanic" (and I use that term loosely) did the labor for free as he is an acquaintance of the owner, so there is no recourse...although I must give him credit for his attempt to help a friend by doing everything for free. Unfortunately, it just didn't turn out as planned.
Any donations of either upper CA's or mounting brackets would be very much appreciated.
