Value of car with pushed-in trunk? Track car?
I've been rear-ended and the bumper is pushed in on the right and the trunk is pushed in like 4-6". The trunk an RR door require you to slam them for it to close. Otherwise, it works fine. It's a 2001 S4 w/ an APR chip. I'm looking at keeping the repair monies and trying to sell the car as is. Drives fine. How much do you think I could get for it? It's just under repair value for them to total it. It would make a great track car...

Sounds exactly what happened to me two years ago. How much did they qoute to fix - mine ended up being $6500 since I was pushed into someone.
As for price, depends on how many other parts are on it? At a minimum, I would say a couple of grand.

The current estimate is for 7.5k. The car is fine, I've been driving it. The trunk and RR door need to be slammed to shut. The R. side of the bumper is pushed in. Do you think $5k is asking for too much?

that's the thing - there is no need to fix it really -- no reason you can't just slam the RR door & trunk. It drives fine otherwise, and doesn't look too bad. What about $4k? More reasonable?

I'll try to get some pics of it's current state later today. It's got 98k miles, stick, APR chip with 4 programs (can be reconfigured), tighter suspension (i hate body roll; it's now /amazing/ on windy roads, not so good with potholes in SF - should be great on the track). Manual, obviously. I don't trust people with performance cars which are automatic.
