Default Video: 2001.5 Audi S4 2.7T... Dynoed! (Stock vs GIAC-X w/ Graphs)

Hey everyone,

I hope this helps anyone wondering how much power a GIAC-X chip/flash adds to a stock B5 S4 2.7T. I also have unaltered PDFs of each of the three dyno runs along with the comparison. Hope you all enjoy the video:

2001.5 Audi S4 2.7T... Dynoed! (Stock vs GIAC-X w/ Graphs)
2001.5 Audi S4 2.7T dynoed on a Mustang Dynamometer at AWE-Tuning

Dyno Run 1: Stock
212AWHP (250BHP Reported)
224AWTQ (258BTQ Reported)

Dyno Run 2: GIAC-X
269AWHP (317BHP Estimated)
267AWTQ (308BTQ Estimated)

Dyno Run 3: GIAC-X
268AWHP (316BHP Estimated)
275AWTQ (317BTQ Estimated)

There was no time allowed for adaptation after the GIAC-X Flash. It was flashed on the dyno for true 'out of the box' results. This was all done on a stock engine, stock turbos, stock air filter, and stock exhaust. Explanations and dyno graphs within video!

I'm curious to what my APR flashed tune, would dyno at. They say on 91oct it's 307Hp and 366Tq. I can definitely feel a significant difference in motor pull... even on the frwy... at 80mph it's still pulling my head back abit when I get on it just alil bit... mind you if I layed on it... holy **** your heads touchin the head rest. It's like I've described before with my bike, you get on it, and it's ZIP! done your gone... Can't wait to try my 100oct tune.

I've not ridden in a Giac tuned S4, so I can't say which it better, but I'd love to put mine and another up to the test. Just curious to see both would react. You know?... I could care less about winning, the experimenting is whats interesting. Just my .02

Chris

Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone.

I have seen this video before... i was surprised by how low the torque numbers were... especially as GIAC is generally considered to be an aggressive tune.... also, i would agree with ChrisS4... i would like to see a giac run an apr straight up to see the difference. there is an awesome video with 3 stage 3 cars going... one tuned by APR, one EPL, and one AWE:

Man I've seen this video quite a few times myself. I heard GIAC was aggressive also but it didn't come off that way, nor did it sound that way, probably cuz of all the noise coming from the rollers on the dyno itself. And the way the driver was on the throttle (tends to make a huge difference). Man I had something in mind and poof there it went. CRAP! hahaha

That race between APR and GIAC would definitely be interesting.

That's true, about people saying it's the tamest. Though it sure doesn't feel that way, looking at that video and knowing how my car responds. wow big difference. Now what I wonder is how they run the dyno, I know it's in the closest gear to 1:1 ratio so fourth gear (normally). Do they lay on the throttle or easy it on till there's no more?

man I dislike Monday's, they blow. I'll be back later when I'm fully discombobulated.

Chris

depends on whos running the car on the dyno but most people hold the car in gear at a certain rpm then mash the pedal

Got it.... I've been to one dyno in the last year that I remember what the guy did, but like you said it's different with everyone.

Man I just remembered... a company I used to work for with datsun Z's holds an annual ca show here in orange, and they always have a dyno machine.. damn I shouldve gone. Oh well...
