Default Well I finally found my overheating problem at idle for more than 5 minutes.. My thermostat is stuck

closed I believe. I felt both radiator hoses when the car was warm and the top radiator hose is very hot and the lower radiator hose is just warm..

Wow I just had my thermostat replaced 7k miles ago (with timing belt and accesories)..

Is replacing it hard? I know I have to pull the whole front end off and take the timing belt and water pump off.. should I just pay someone? (how much?) Or do you think I could do it myself? If so, are there any write ups for this ? Thanks

Default That's a call only you can make. I'd do it myself, personally. I can't stand to pay someone for some

thing that I can do myself. But that's just me. Maybe you just don't have the time. Then it would be worth it.

Default sure its not the water pump?

if the upper hose is very hot, does that mean thats coolant from the head to the rad??? if so that sounds correct to me, but then again i'm no expert...

Default If your thermostat was stuck closed, you would be more likely to overheat while driving, not idling

Is your electric cooling fan coming on? What about pressure? If your system is not pressurizing, you will overheat.

The symptoms you describe are not indicative of a stuck thermostat.
