what happens if you put the wrong octane in a chipped car?

the lower octane will increase the fuel's burn rate and have a greater chance of knocking.
detonation is going to occur when the flam front doesn't burn evenly. this will result with having an explosion and increasing the cylinder pressure.
the engine will use knock senors to retard timing so you don't get detonation.
get some higher octane gas....
