What is Wrong With/Missing From My Headlight? (Pics Inside!)
I recently purchased a 2001 S4 and had noticed that my driver's side headlight was flickering, mostly when I was on the highway/driving at high speeds. I tried searching around and didn't really find anything that matched my observations, so I figured the headlight was just bad and needed to be replaced. I finally had some free time today and took a better look to see what I could find, and I noticed that the light was not flickering - but that the entire lamp + housing was moving around.
The only thing holding the housing in place were two screws facing upwards that use a star-like key to screw in and out. I looked around and assumed that there HAD to be something that was supposed to be on the bottom or sides of the housing because it had a lot of play with just the top screws holding it down. I saw some pieces that looked like they may or may not have been cracked/broken off, and tried to take pictures as best as I could:
PLEASE Help!

If you determine the mounting is the problem when compared to the other headlight assembly,
the problem may be that the headlight range control module is going out.
I recently had that flickering in the passenger side, until the light would not go on at all.
The problem turned out to be the module, which houses the circuit boards.
P.M. me if you need more info.
