Who has aftermarket pedal covers? Which are best for heel-toe and overall grip?
I'm developing a pain in my knee from heel toeing my down shifts with stock pedal covers and I think it's because of the pedal position. I want after market pedals and I want to use spacers to raise the gas pedal to be more inline with the brake.
It looks like the big options are ASP, AWE, AutoVation, and Sparco, there are probably others and I'd love to hear your experiences with them.
Do your feet ever slip on the pedals when wet?
Do the pedals extend out enough for heel toe?
Does one brand feel cheap?
Have the rubber nubbs fallen off?
Would you recommend your pedal to somebody else?
Anything else you have to add?
Thanks guys

I have a set of Conrero titanium covers...I'll be taking them off in a few weeks..
..only because I found a set of Oetts at a killer price.. otherwise...
to answer your questions...
- No, never
- Yes
- Not at all...pretty thick and quite solid
- Laser cut, no rubber nubs
- Yes
- No, other than an obligatory pic of them when I put them in.. I have the dead pedal, but never installed it...

I am interested as well....
Not sure that the engineers were thinking with pedal placement but the car is next to impossible to heel/toe. Seems to me that the gas pedal is way to "low" compaired to the brake pedal, every time I try to heel/toe I try to put my wife through the windshield.....because I end up applying more brake then I wanted too.
Cheers,
Jim

tell me about it
I have size 12s (13s in some shoes) and i can do it with out too much trouble, but i have to twist my knee in a weird way and i can really feel it after having the car for a few months now.
My 99 Mustang had the same problem (even worse actually), but i used a nylon spacer on the throttle cable and that raised the pedal up perfectly. They put almost an inch of slack in the throttle cable.

Seating position isn't much better in the b5
No matter what I do I can not get comfortable in the seat. If my *** is comfortable my knees are banging the steering wheel, if my knees are not hitting the steering wheel my legs start to go numb because of how my *** is positioned... If i didn't want to keep the side air bag i'd go after market seats, and I still might...

just install any of the wider gas pedals on top of existing throttle and slightly to the left ...
- can't remember my brand but basically has rubber nubbs
- this install over the existing pedal with screws and slightly to the left raises the pedal just enough to make it work
- leave the brake pedal as is because i find it grips well - you don't grip on the throttle as you are generally sliding onto it
- with this setup, I heel-toe with the left side and right side of my right foot comfortably (i.e. no heel at all just left side of right foot for the brake and right side of the right foot for the throttle) - that said, you do not want racing shoes with tiny soles but just regular width soles with grip
- prior to doing this, I could kind of heel-toe but would never attemp it on track due to the risk of fvcking up and dying
