Why does APR's ECUx customer support SUCK so bad?!? i'm trying to install on laptop #3 because they
can't provide any advice for troubleshooting the first 2 laptops (#1 - intermittent connection issues and #2 - complete program crashes) other than where to find a *.dll that they should have included (or provided instructions for) in the first place.
error codes provided at their request for laptop #2 crashes with no follow-ups even when asked. no suggestions for other problems except for "play around with the settings" and see if that helps . . . thanks.
and now it's been almost 2 weeks since i requested the registration code for laptop #3. nothing. not a peep. two follow-ups and not even an automated response saying "Sorry, we're in the smoke-house preparing for our BBQ right now. We'll get back to you around Independence Day"?!?
this is NOT an isolated incident either. there have been tons of posts about install issues with no real help, driver problems, program stopping working for no reason, and constant hounding needed to get reg codes. was this software written by CS summer intern or something?
i bought this during the Holiday Sale. yes, <b>3 1/2 months ago</b> and it's still not operational. thanks APR, i love you too!!!

I am in the same boat that you are. Mine used to work, installed new antivirus
and it deleted some files that were corrupt. Now it won't work, probably deleted one of the .dll files. It tells me that it can't connect with the ecu. BUT, it will read DTC's about every 10th try or so. The VAG-COM cable is a serial cable and works great with Lemmi, VAG-COM and GIAC program switcher. I updated my VAG-COM version by accident and then re-downloaded(is that a word?) an older version. APR told me that the newer version was the problem, so that is why I got the older version back on the laptop. It used to work, now it doesn't work at all. Anyone have any ideas? APR is no help and I am really getting upset that they can't come up with better customer support.

I think it's for 2 reasons...
1. they fear that multiple registration requests mean that people are giving away the software to friends for free.
2. i heard a rumor that ECUx has bitten them in the *** becuase all of the competing tuners use it to tune cars (and create/sell competing engine software).
I could be wrong. I just don't think it's a big money generator for them so they probably don't care too much. I also think that there's just one guy who takes care of all of the computer related things.

Pffft. That software is a cash cow. They charge 250.00 a pop and don't have active support...
...or upgrades/patches.
I have been fighting to get my version working for the last 3 months as well to no avail.
Hell, give me the source code and *I'll* support it for you. Come on guys, it's not open source for crying out loud - it's shrink-wrapped software that isn't cheap per license.
