Do you have sport seats or Recaros?
I want an S4 Avant without sunroof and no power seats. If they make it in Europe I might be able to get it here next year. I would really like the Recaro seats, but I doubt that they will let us have them.
Thanks

The car is a sports sedan after all. I would expect it to have all the amenities of a luxury sedan. I would much rather Audi put in that Aliminium engine block that I know will probably get added just after I buy my S4.

Unfortunately I have the normal sport seats
When I ordered my car, the options for the 99.5 S4 was somewhat unknown. They didn't know about Recaros, SideGuard and the alu mirrors at the time. The upside was that I got the first 99.5 S4 in Sweden...
AFAIK the Recaros are power seats by default.

Re: What I'd do without to get a lighter car
It would probably leave you with a 1.500 Kg./3.300 lbs. S4 at best with a 63/37 weight distribution. The remedy is as much balance as it is weight reduction. Maybe the key is not to source the extra power from a heavy V-6 twin-turbo but smaller 5 cylinder in-line engine (as in the Ur-Quattro).
There is no comparison between the 2.5 liter Subaru and the 2.0 liter turbo. Even in turbo form, it is no match to the S4 (only in raw performance).
