2015 vs. 2016?

Spoke to 3 dealers and they all say no 2016 will be in california until perhaps july 2015.
I leaned on them pretty hard and it looks like the best deal is a 2 year lease. That way I am only 18 months out after the 2016 hits. Plus to be honest I am sorta holding my breath now that the new Cadillac CTS-V will be out by August 2015 as a 2016 model and have 640hp. I am just an HP monger

Does the 2015 S6 experience the throttle delay issues that the 2013 & 2014 incur? I would hope the 2016 will not have throttle delay issues.
At the Norcal Auto show, the local Audi dealer indicated the 2016 A6/S6 would start arriving in March/April 2015.

Those are roughly the dates I've been told as well, with east coast deliveries expected end of March/early April and west coast 2 weeks behind. Although none of the U.S. models have been released to production yet, so it's getting tight. They need to start building them in the next few weeks to make March/April deliveries.

The 2016 will also get an upgraded MMI system with a faster processor, LTE, and 8 inch screen. The HP bump is to 450 from 420, although maybe that applies only to European models (wouldn't think so since both US and Euro are rated the same today). There is an open question about whether the hp is really up or they are simply rating hp more honestly for 2016. A red interiors will also be an option (at least in Europe). No press release about US models yet.
I wanted the MMI update and prefer the new LED headlights, and like the other changes well enough, so cancelled my 2015 S6 order (after 2 months and no indication when it will go into production) with plans to order a 2016...if I don't change my mind. The new C63 AMG will be out by then, and maybe the M3 will tempt me again.

Didn't mean to bring up an old post. If you do a one pay lease and total the car, you only owe the leasing company the residual. Your insurance company is obligated to pay the fair market value of the car , so you will get the difference back from the leasing company.

I did the same - My S6 showed up after all this time and I told them sorry I wanna wait for the 2016.
In the meantime i am also looking at the new CTS-V with zo6-esque motor or perhaps a hellcat Jeep. I will most likely never give up on my S4. I just love that car.
