Instead of retyping all this all over again...I thought I would provide the link. I will update this as I get each oil change analyzed.

Great Post. I am about hit hit 1k on my 2016 S6. Sales guy and service guy insist that changing before 5k a waste of money. I'm old school on early changes. No hole burning in my pocket, but I purchased not leased. Now concerned that I have done break in as recommended, vary rpms but not push it. When would you change, given your superb measuring history? 2500 miles, wait for free 5000, before, or?

gts...I like to change it at about 2,500 miles for the first 2. Then 5,000 miles for the second...then every 10,000 miles after that. Sorry for the late reply...did not check in on this thread since I first posted here.

Hi Guys,
Just received my latest oil analysis. I am very happy with how this engine is looking.
Wear metals are showing below my unit average (to be expected w/ only 16,000 miles on the car and 4 oil changes) but also much lower than universal averages. Might be a testament to the type of oil I use? Who knows.
I will keep updating these at each oil change. I am planning my next oil change closer to 10,000 miles now that I am convinced all the break in metals are gone.
As a side note I am also averaging almost 23 MPG over the past 3 months (this is a manual calculation based on actual miles driven and actual gallons in the tank).

It's an app called Road Trip. It's great. It can track multiple cars and it can back up it's data to dropbox. So when you get a new phone you can resync and all the data will be saved to your new phone. I have used it for years with no problems.
