Audi Connect
Just wondering how many of us have renewed Audi Connect after the 6 month trial? I'm thinking that anything available on Audi Connect......I can get on my iPhone and get it quicker?
The best deal for renewal is 30 months @ $450. However, history says that I'll have a different car in 30 months.
Comments please.

I let mine go just recently too. My kids liked the wifi with their iPads but i have a mifi and can tether my phone so that isn't a big deal. I haven't even renewed my XM radio yet even though they are constantly sending my stuff. I bluetooth stream my phone which is all i really need quite honestly at this point. I'm pretty simple

Didn't renew either. Only thing I like is the Google maps, but it still shows up in my local area. When I drive somewhere new, the map doesn't show up well but then I just turn it off.
Definitely not worth it just for a cool map picture.

There are many advantages to accessing the data through the MMI including full integration with the Nav system and MMI screen. There's also a safety issue to consider if using the phone for data while driving.
There are Audi Connect provider alternatives like TruPhone and P-Tel which offer sims using a pay as you go model on T-Mobile's network. Can be significantly less expensive if you don't frequently travel outside of your cached map area using the Google Earth overlay which can be a data hog. Do an AW global forum search; there are several threads discussing the options.

My mother in law still has connect and google earth on her 2013 S4 after 16 months even though she never renewed. I called and they confirmed she is not subscribed anymore but somehow they haven't cut off her service.
I'm definitely not renewing.

I don't think I'll renew. I don't really find it that useful considering how slow it is. If it was 4G it would be a no brainer but t-mobile 3G is not very good for driving around in west LA. And my kid can't even stream Netflix with it on a road trip.

I went the P-tel option which has saved me a ton of money so far because I am always with 20 sq miles. However, I have no idea what the cost will be after my first road trip so it may even out or even become more expensive but over the long run I expect P-tel to be cheaper for me.

I also went prepaid through TruPhone; after an initial high rate of consumption while Google Earth images were re-cached I've now settled down to about $0.10/day in usage. I have Wifi turned off.
