Default AWE S-Flo Carbon intake

I'm planning on installing the intake next week. Does anyone have one in place and does it noticeably affect the sound of the exhaust? I currently have an AWE exhaust in place and an APR upgrade. I love the sound the way it is at present.--thx

I would not expect an intake upgrade to affect a exhaust sound unless the original intake was severely restrictive.

Time a few 20-60 MPH (or higher) runs as a base line and run them again after the intake install to see if there is any performance gain.

Thanks for going AWE Tuning, I'm sure you'll love how everything sounds. The engine will be getting in additional airflow, so that will reflect on exit. The exhaust may get slightly louder, but not significantly so.

There most certainly are gains to be had! Our engineers put a lot of effort into maximizing efficiency and power.

We invite feedback, so please update us all after the install!

I would expect some gains from a intake/exhaust upgrade. A few before and after runs would nail down how much others could expect from using the same products.

Do you get more turbo sound with this intake?

It will not be as loud as an intake that does not incorporate an airbox, but turbo sound will be increased to a refined level.

At some point I would love to see those gains without the GIAC tune...

On a stock vehicle, power gains are there but they are not outstanding, which is par the course for an intake modification on the S6. Paired with an exhaust, the gains compound further.

Maximum gains will be realized with a tune. Working in conjunction with GIAC gives us the ability to dyno test, fine tune the design and volumetric efficiency of the airbox, and extract everything we can when the ECU can take advantage of the increased airflow and overall increase in efficiency.

I understand what youre saying. However, there are some of us(me in particular) who just like bolt-ons. Can you give any sort of indication what gains are had in conjunction with your exhaust(I have that on my car)?
