I'd be interested in how you calculated this. I've observed a consistent 2-3MPG difference between the readout and my calculated economy. My technique is simple, and over 1 tank perhaps not accurate, but I have averaged this over 10 tanks filling at the same pump at the same station in similar atmospheric conditions.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "the lower range".

I average about 13 mpg. But in one year of owning the car, I have never once come close to losing off the line. Not once. Starting to feel invincible.

Tuned? Mods? Stay in city traffic most the time? You must have your foot into it a lot because that is some lousy mileage.

BTW - That 28.2 read-out I stated in the earlier post was just that, a read-out. I am actually averaging around 19 in the suburbs & country roads with an occasional run up the freeway.

For what it's worth, not that I care (at all), i've noticed a sharp decrease in MPG since installing the AWE exhaust. Stands to reason, obviously.

Default MPG in NJ

I averaged 17 MPG over 6500 miles. In the very cold winter with 10 mile suburban trips I average about 13 MPG. With adaptive cruise set to 72 - 75 I see 24-25 MPG. I mostly drive in D but sometimes S, which produces even less MPG due to higher RPM at most speeds. I don't really care, the only time I ever notice is with regard to cruising range, which is about 420 highway miles with some reserve. It is really quite amazing gas mileage for a car with so much power, Quattro and 4400 lbs. Our Infiniti G37X weighs about 500 lbs less, has about 100 fewer horsepower, 130 lb ft less torque (two fewer cylinders), and averages only 19 MPG under driving conditions where the S6 gets 17 MPG. Also, I wonder how winter vs. summer tires affect MPG?

This forum is too broad: it has cars of different years ranging from 2 to 4 liters. The information would be way more useful if everyone put the year and model in their signature.

Since this is the S6 C7 sub forum I assumed we all had the same car/engine.

Everyone should have a 4.0TT since it is the S6 forum.
