Default Buy a 2013 A6

Hey Audi world,
I am new to buying a 2013 Audi A6 2.0 and I need your help. The car has 96,xxx miles on it and I was wondering what wear and tear parts will need to be replaced. I just need to know so when I go into the dealer I could talk the price down or know how much I will need to spend over the course of a couple years

That is a crazy amount of miles for a '13. How much are they asking? The cost of maintenance and replacement of worn parts will not be trivial. Things that need to be replaced if they haven't already: shocks, misc suspension parts, etc.

i could be wrong but you might also be looking at a timing belt? That could run $3k or $1800 at an Indy shop

They are asking $16900 for it. I'll take a lot at the carfax to see exactly what has been replaced

You don't need to answer publicly because it's a personal opinion. I am guessing (maybe completely incorrectly) that you might not have $5k-$6k sitting around st any given time for repairs. You are buying an expensive car to fix and maintain when the best miles of its life are long gone. The car, if properly maintained, will last for several more years.. the remainder of its life comes at a cost.

if this is the only one you are able to afford just know that you could have a significantly newer and cheaper to maintain car for that price that will cost you next to nothing to maintain for the next 5 years.

your choice, choose wisely and good luck

You could also look at leasing a brand new 2017 A6, 2.0T Premium Plus Quattro. Over a three year lease it might cost you about $25,000. New car, warranty, no worries.....

You do make a great point about leasing it but don't forget after three years you will have to either buy the entire car ~30,000 dollars on the spot or release another car and do it again for 3 years

Take the VIN to any Audi dealer and they should be able to print you a detailed service history.

+1 on having a ~$5k buffer for (inevitable) repairs
