Dealer says no CarPlay for S6 until 2018?

Dealer says no CarPlay for S6 until 2018?
Considering upgrading my 2013 S6 to a 2016 in stock and asked about whether CarPlay would be available through an MMI software update. Was told no and that CarPlay wouldn't come to he S6 until 2018. 2017 S6 is not on Audi website (why?) but 2017 S7 is and lists CarPlay as standard. Surely it will be available in S6 also but why so much confusion and how can they not know whether it will be made available via software update? Either way it would probably not stop me from going with a 2016 as the incentives are so much better.

100% certain that it is on the 2017 S6. I have one on order and confirmed that it is part of the MMI system for the A6 and S6 models. Audi also added inductive charging for smartphones that support this (hopefully this comes on the upcoming iPhone 7).
