Diverter Valve Location?
New to the 4.0 twin turbo v8, and don't have the car yet so can't pull the cover and look for myself... I assume there's some type of diverter valve(s) to recirculate unused boost into the turbo intakes, but where's it located? Anyone have a link to an online parts diagram?
Trying to figure out if it's a piston or diaphragm style, and if it needs to be upgraded when the engine is tuned to increase turbo ouput? TIA for any help...

They are on top near the front...by the intercooler. They are electronic piston type and do not require upgrade.

Actually, I believe they're in the front on each side of the small intercooler as gk1 stated. Found a copy of one of the engine training manuals showing this:

To add clarity to the location of the wastegates to bypass boost, enclosed in red. The recirculation valves are in the front.

Yes, good to clarify that as well. Great to know the bypass (diverter) valves are rock solid on these cars then. That p/n piston style valve assembly is capable of handling increased boost pressures as a result of ecm tuning.

This is a old post but I will add for anyone new searching diverter valve. Upgrade them to the Forge DV. It's a simple process you can do at home and it will help with back pressure on your turbos. Especially if you upgrade the ECU and definitely if you upgrade the turbos. They still work like the factory DV but if there is to much pressure it will release it into the air. They come with two different pressure springs. One is for factory turbos and the other is for the upgraded turbos. Stay blessed God speeds too :-)
