Default G.I.A.C or APR flash/tune?

Folks, Have any of you tried either one of these tune's or both?

1.) Pros & Cons?
2.) Do they void the warranty?
3.) Can you remove or flash back to stock?

1) They cost money / They make the car faster and more fun to drive
2) Yes, if the dealer scans the car you will get a TD1, which essentially voids your powertrain warranty
3) Yes. Supposedly this cannot be detected by Audi.

Your question presupposes that someone has tried both - something I think is exceedingly unlikely. If you do a search you'll find lots of opinions from users who took the plunge with one or the other. From memory, both seem to give about the same peak hp and torque gains. APR seems to ramp up the torque more smoothly while GIAC spikes more quickly (there is some debate about whether the latter might be more wear and tear on the transmission). Everyone says "Holy $#!7 - that's fast!" and comment favourably on improved driveability.

GIAC has both engine tune and transmission tune which they claim work together to enhance the tune.

APR has tune switching via iphone available. As well as tuning via OBDII port (used to be only by bench flash). GIAC may have this available now too.

Both good. Have a chat with both of them and do your research. There is still doubt that by detuning you will not void warranty. From what I understand the ECU still has a registry and it can be pulled up. There are also stored values, such as torque that will go over factory spec and a trained tech can see those.
