After my 2016 S6 deal went belly up from a dealer 1000 miles away, I decided to order a new 2017 S6. Got what I want all figured out except I am trying to decide between the Carbon Atlas or the Layered Aluminum/Black Wood inlay. The pictures in the catalogs and website are so small I can't really tell what it looks like. I have heard the term pin stripe suit used a few times here but really wanted to see a really good picture. Can someone with it please post a few great shots?

What is everyone opinion on which one looks better with black interior?

Black Optics Package
Layered Aluminum/Black Wood inlay


My dealer also told me that the 2017 S6 come with Red Brake Calipers...

I ordered it on my car and absolutely love it! For me, the Carbon Atlas is too common and has a cold look to it. The Layered Aluminum/Black Wood Inlay has a very nice, rich look to it, which as you've heard, looks a bit like a pin stripped suit. My wife is not a fan, but I bought the car me... FWIW, the majority of people who see it like it.

Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures. Try Googling it and you'll find many photos. There's also some here at AudiWorld.

If you live in the Bay Area, I'd be happy to show it to you.

I would prefer the Beaufort oak wood inlays over the carbon fiber trim. The CF is nice but I expected it to stand out more in a black interior.

Audi have released a new interior trim option for the 2017 S6 update - agate grey birch in a natural finish. No idea if it will be offered in the US.

For what its worth I love the layered aluminum trim! I dont have it but wanted it bad!!! Looks even better in person and it is pretty rare. I have carbon inlays. There was an S7 sitting at a local dealership with everything I wanted except that and I got the deal I wanted to I went for it, but if I was to order a car it would definitely be with the layered aluminum inlays.

Can anyone else verify these new wood inlays are standard or an option on a '17 S6 model? Going to be placing an order this week, and the gray wood looks incredible.
