I hope the defeat button is sticky like my A8. Push once then never again.

Cars for Sale: 2016 Audi S6 in Bedford, OH 44146: Sedan Details - 396076946 - Autotrader

You can see it in the Tach and the center console button

You guys are so down on Start/Stop... My wife's BMW X3 has it and I really like it. Maybe Audi's implementation stinks and that's why you're disabling it, but if it works like the X3, I'm leaving it on.

Is there a coast or sailing mode when you lift up on the accelerator?

It does have start stop. I'll see if the turn it off button will stay on once pressed and report back later

I figured all the new Audis had the feature. Our Q5 has the feature but you press the button once to turn it off and it never comes on again unless you re-engage it. And you only do it once, not every time you start the engine.

If you don't care for it, press the button once to turn it off, never see it again... no big deal.

Yes it does. It's one of the new features on the DSG.

The start/stop is contributing to the 1 MPG bump in the city cycle.

Really... I'll have to give that a try. Right now I'm sipping an espresso, waiting for my guy to wrap things up with someone else (I'm a bit early).

Its taken 4 days but I've decided I don't like Start-Stop. The disable button will remain active from now on.

Several times I've been sitting at a red light and stepped on the accelerator to go when it turned green and it hesitated. Forgetting about the stop-start I pushed the pedal a little harder thinking it would overcome the hesitation and rocketed off when after the engine re-engaged. I don't want to rear-end someone because of it.

Works fine in most of my cars...

Step 1: Step off brake.. this is the one most forget go straight to the gas
Step 2: Engine starts
Step 3: Accelerate
Step 4: Enjoy
Step 5: Repeat

Had it in my A6. Fairly unobtrusive, but it did get annoying at times. The one thing that stood out to me is that brake pressure is your primary means of activating it, and if I wasn't paying attention, I'd apply too much pressure at a light where I knew I wouldn't be stopped long enough to realize any fuel savings.
