I just checked in with my dealer today, and he said I have a July 6 tentative build date. I placed the order on March 18th and was told I had a late May build date. I changed the color on the order on March 21st and I am now being told the July 6th date.

I am using the supplier discount, so any chance I am getting bumped to a lower priority for the dealer?

What are my options here to find out why it would take 5 months to get my order?

Should I call another local dealer to get eta on a new build?

How weird is your build? I bet some dealer has one on the way that you could buy from their stock...

Then just buy from them. Either have them ship it to your dealer, or fly out and road trip back.

I wonder if it has something to do with the color change. You are the second person I've seen post about a 6 week+ delay after changing the color.

I'd call another dealer to see what they say but they may not be able to tell you anything other than the standard 90-120 day wait, it may be that they have to actually enter the order in the system to give you more specifics.

I ordered over the weekend and received a build date for October 5th. The 41st week of 2015. My dealer is looking into it. Car will be Sepang/lunar silver/black layered aluminum/sport/ black optics. There is a delay of a few weeks for black optic but he has no idea why Audi came back with a production week in October.

I have a mid March order for mine and it still hasnt been picked up yet by the manufacturer. If it helps you feel any better, Im getting mine as an employee and I havent been able to push mine through any faster.

Wow... The S6 is a great car but it's not a 6 month wait car.

um, yeah. I don't like what i'm reading here, if my car isn't here in June as predicted there's gonna be scat and blood all over the showroom floor ......

It was released to the manufacturer on 3/16(order was put in on 3/4) but has not been released for production yet. Just sitting in purgatory right now.

Just receieved this email from my Audi dealer.......Unfortunately the production estimate for FP4949 will probably be accurate. Changes to orders that include high-demand packages like Black Optic or to high-demand models like the 2016 S6 can push the production week of vehicles out, as availability in sooner weeks likely has already been filled. It looks like FP4949 was pushed out to Week 40 due to no sooner availability for PPS, PSS, and the model change. If you have any additional questions please let me know.
