Default Motor mounts replaced

Driving the car on the highway last week with the cruise control on, when the car was going up a slight incline it began to shake. At steady pace it was smooth. Over the next 30 minutes the problem worsened until the car really started shaking violently at lower speeds and the EPC light came on. I bypassed my home and drove directly to the dealership who diagnosed it as bad motor mounts. Took a week to get the parts and the car is back and driving nicely again. Just over 40,000 miles on the odometer.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have seen several posts of bad motor mounts on the Audi-zine, not uncommon apparently.

I'd hate to have that part fail out of warranty. The part (I'm told) is $600 but the labor is very high since it's basically an engine swap.

Mine is being replaced under warranty as we speak too.

It was throwing a fault code but otherwise I hadn't really noticed any adverse symptoms. Not sure whether there was any evidence of fluid leaks but will quiz the dealer a little more when I pick the car up in the next few days.

It could have failed electrically.

Certainly possible.

Can't recall the exact fault code off the top of my head (will have a record of it at home) but it wasn't short to ground or anything similar indicating an obvious electrical-related failure.
