If you want the new hardware, yes, that would be a reason not to buy an A8. Then again, so would "it doesn't fit in my garage".

Everyone has their own priorities in life. Mine are interesting gadgets and getting to work 37 seconds faster than I do now. Maybe yours are a nicer interior, more leg room, and a floaty sensation not entirely unlike an old Buick (but with less body roll).

The A8 is a great car, I test drove one before deciding on the S6, but Audi isn't Mercedes. Tech doesn't trickle down here, it's like a salmon swimming upstream with one small flipper and one normal one; it takes a lot of time to get to the top.
