Default Radar detectors and accident avoidance systems

I think it is common knowledge by now that the Audi accident avoidance systems operate on K band and interfere with radar detector functions. What are those of you with radar detectors who have these features on your car doing? I ordered my car without the Innovation or driver assistance package specifically to avoid this issue.

The Adaptive Cruise option doesn't set off my Valentine One, so it must be operating on a different band.
Side Assist does affect radar detectors because it's operating at POP mode frequency, although it can be coded out on the Valentine One (see option J);

Lane Assist is camera based.

My Passport 9500ix does not false on any of these features in my car. I have both the ACC and lane assist.

What separates a good radar detector from a bad one is the ability to determine real radar threats from false ones. My father in law has a Cobra unit that literally never stops beeping! I almost go crazy every time I drive in his car. I keep asking him why he just didn't record a CD that has beeping sounds on it and hit repeat. He would have saved a couple hundred bucks LOL. It's his first radar detector, so he thinks I'm being dramatic. But really, I'm not! It's a totally useless detector because it's always beeping.

I have always had great experiences with Escorts stuff, but the latest generations are really nice units. Barely any false alarms at all, great range, and auto GPS lockout for non-police radar signals.

Here in Florida you can safely turn off X Band and K band on your radar detectors. Our Police only use Ka Band and Laser.

Still lots of K band in the northeast. My Escort 8500 is never triggered by my side assist, parking aids or ACC. Once in a great while, I'll get a false from another late model luxury car but never my own.
Btw, ACC is on a frequency well above police band radars.

Same here. My 9500ix is not triggered by any of my systems. I have the Innovation package and all systems are active.

+1

Just received my updated V1, and after turning on the Traffic Monitor filter it did the trick.

So I just checked the serial number on my V1 on the website and it's due for an upgrade. The cost is just over $200 including shipping.

Is it worth upgrading the V1 or do you think I should try something new like the Redline or 9500? Most of my driving is local with highway once in a blue.

Or dont even bother with anything at all?
