Default S6 to RS7

I have an opportunity to switch from my 2016 S6 to a 2016 RS7.
I'd be taking a slight hit, but also securing a fairly large discount on the RS7. I would be out around $10k total.

My S6 is Sazuka Grey/Black, Premium Plus, S6 Sport Package, Bose, LED lights, Cold Weather Pkg, Black Optic, etc..

The RS7 is Nardo Grey/Black, Carbon Optic, Black 21" Rims, Sport Exhaust, etc...

My last car was an M5, which I traded on the S6 and I feel I'm a bit down on power and handling with the S6.

Just trying to rationalize pulling the trigger.

Help me!!

Default For cars in that price bracket...

… rationalization is an illusion. We buy (or lease) these beasts because we love the thrill of driving great cars. If you can afford it, and really want the RS7 - go for it. Life is short and I believe these fearsome beasts have numbered days as the emphasis will surely shift away from mega-horsepower as as CAFE relations tighten. That's why I opted for an RS5 before the last of the naturally aspirated V8's from Audi disappears into history…

Good Luck

Eric

It is hard here in Europe to relate to US pricing, but if you are going 2016 S6 to 2016 RS7 for just USD10k all up, you'd be mad not to do it as this seems almost too good to be true.

Your S6/M5 comparison issues would evaporate quickly - very quickly.

If you want it, do it. I would certainly make that deal for $10k out. The new MSRPs are something like $40,000 apart, so I'd say you're doing all right!

I would not hesitate either. The RS7 is a beast and the uniqueness, thrills and power you experience each time to fire up that monster will make the added cost disappear from your memory. Buy it and post pics!!!

+1 on a good deal unless you need to put 5 in the car at once. The RS7 is a major price increase over the S6, so from a value perspective, it's a great deal. If you don't like it, I imagine you could sell it and get a S6 with money in your pocket.

IMHO - Comparing the M5 to and S6 is a real mismatch..

S6 ~ BMW 550i with an M package

M5 ~ RS7

You will love the RS7. There is a beautiful red RS7 that I encounter now and again up in the mountains and it is great fun to chase it through the twisties. A car that big has no right to handle so well.

$10k difference to switch up to a 2016 RS7? Seems too good to be true!
I seem to think OP was trying to say he'd be looking at losing $10k on his MY2016 S6 alone, notwithstanding having to pay whatever the discounted asking price of the RS7 is.
Is it new for used; used for used or used S6 for new RS7?
OP, could you please clarify?
