Any idea if this will be an upgrade either by software or at the dealer? I just picked up a 2016 S6 (and love it) and it would be great if Apple CarPlay could be added.

The MMI system in the 2016 A6/S6 is the same as what they are doing in all these 2017 models. I don't see why we couldn't get it in a software upgrade. All lower model years it won't be available, but the 2016 has the MIB-2 system with the new faster processor.

I've been meaning to call Audi of America, but figured I'd get a bunch of bs in response. I have a bad feeling they will screw over 2016 owners.

There will be no such updates. I contacted Audi and their reply is attached.

There was an article the audizine forums that some people had gotten some information that an upgrade was being tested. I got the same BS from Audi and was told "No". I guess only time will tell. Hyundia, Kia, Ford, and GM have been able to do upgrades.

At least an after market upgrade that wouldn't require a whole unit replacement will be ideal. I previously sent an email about the Traffic Sign Recognition not been made available in the 2016 vehicles and they gave me a bs answer too. Keeping my finger crossed though and let's hope the news about the " new cheat " doesn't affect our vehicles. I'll be first in line to sue.
