Window tints

I plan on it once I get my actual S6 in June. I'll probably take it down to a place in Charlotte because I want tint, xpel and opticoat all done at the same time and no where local to me does them all.

I plan to get Suntek CXP tinting, PPF (still deciding between Suntek and Xpel) and opticoat as well. There are a few places here that do each, so I'm hoping to have them all done at the same place.

Llumar CTX ceramic is on my windows. 15% on the rear, and 30% on the sides.
LLumar AirBlue film is on the front windshield for heat and UV protection.

I live in PA, so no. State law says > 70% VLT which effectively means all tint other than 90% film is illegal.
That said, I'll see how this summer goes. I may do 90% 3M Crystalline just to cut down on heat transfer.

I live in the Philly burbs and have had six Audi's (all tinted w/20 or 30%) over the past 13 years and only have gotten pulled over once. The ticket was about $100 (back in 2005 IIRC) and I was not asked to remove the tint (nor did I). While the law may be on the book, I never hear of anyone getting cited for it with the assumption you drive normal, don't pump loud music from the car at 3AM, and are not caught drag racing... so go for it!

I too have 20% tint in Philly for years and so far had no problems being pulled over for it. Go for it man.

I love the way darker tints look on these cars, but I will not tint darker than state law allows.
Why? Because of the potential for liability. If you are in an accident and an insurance adjuster notices the tint is illegal, they can refuse the claim due to the car being modified making it no longer roadworthy. Worst case scenario, if there is an injury or fatality, you could lose everything.
To me it just isn't worth the risk.

You would probably have to already be at fault in the accident, and the tint would have to be on the front window for a liability issue as drastic as what you're describing.
