Windshield Scratches from scraper
Looking for some advice here...
With the big storm my Audi was under a lot of snow. I'm recovering from hand surgery so I couldn't go take care of things myself.
My sweet wife did all the snow blowing and tried to get the snow off the Audi. My neighbor graciously tried to help out.
Unfortunately the results are not good. I've got a bunch of scratches on the windshield (confirmed to be scratched glass, some light, some deep). I also have a dozen or so black streaks from the plastic scraper my wife used on the hood and bumper.
I don't know what my neighbor was using that would/could scratch glass. I always thought plastic can't scratch glass.
So I have two questions:
1) most importantly, can scratched glass be fixed without replacing the entire windshield? What's the best approach?
2) I assume the black streaks on my white paint can be buffed out or other wise removed. I plan to take it to a detailer to make sure it's done right. Any feedback on this approach and any recommendations for a detailer in the south orange, nj region?
Thanks in advance.

I've seen ice scraper that have a metal edge.
I did a google search for "scratch windshield ice scraper" and I got a lot of hits. It looks like you're not the only one.
Yikes!
I'm glad my garage is heated.
