Default Brake Squeal

I've a 2015 S7 with about 15K miles. Bought it slightly used about one year ago with about 4K miles on it. Upon initial driving I noticed the brakes squeal just at the point of going to say 3 mph to 0 velocity. I talked to the Audi service manager and he suggested this is common and that the break disks are relatively soft to encourage high performance but that in turn creates brake ''dust" that can result in the squealing. He suggested applying some very hard braking actions to "machine" that dust away. He told me that is how his technicians commonly address the issue. It seemed to work upon need for about the next 9 months, but now I can not get rid of the very annoying squeal even when I try. This is incredibly frustrating to me and is greatly disturbing an otherwise superb driving experience. Has anyone else run into this or have any ideas on how to rectify?

I hear others reporting noise from slow speed braking. I'm not buying the "dust" story but you might get some relief if you bed in or burnish the rotors. I found the following YouTube video when I install a set of Adam's Rotors last summer. It has information about how it to do it, what happens during and what to look for when everything is cooled off. It also mentions that bedding in the pads might be needed periodically.

I might try spraying and/or removing the pads and putting some anti-sqeal lube on them. Mine squealed last week after some snow but quickly went away after a good car wash. When the squealing cannot be stopped by simple methods it usually means something isn't jiving. As in, the pads are not in sync with the rotors.

Had the same issue with a 2016 S7 that I bought used. I came to the conclusion after trying everything, it sat too long and the rotors had some micro rust or something that permanently scared them. Never could fix it, and just replaced them. Fine now.

I've had this same problem with my 2018 S7 that I've had since new. I've had it to the dealership on several occasions to complain about the annoying sound. I've been told that this is normal for Audi brakes and that there is nothing Audi is willing to do for me. They seem to think it alright to have one of their premium cars driving in traffic sounding like a garbage truck.

Audi seems to be installing substandard brakes on all their vehicles lately. I have never had issues with my vehicles until lately. My wife has had the brakes replaced on her 2019 Q7 4 times since picking it up in January. The rotors are constantly warped. They were warped the day we picked the Q7 up from the dealer. I also had the same squealing issues on my 2018 S5. Prior to that, I had a 2016 A6, a 2014 Q7 and a 2012 S4. None of these cars had brake problems like I am having now.
