Cross shopping: S7 or M3
#2
Fortunately my S7 only seemed underpowered for the remainder of the day and when I woke up the next day and drove it, I reverted back to feeling good about the S7's pull.
I get how maybe a M3 4 door seems like a car you would cross shop, but the S7 really is a different kind of car with a different purpose in mind. I absolutely love my S7, and there's so much more that I can do in my S7 than I'd be able to in a M4 (or 3). 4 seasons, room for a lot of cargo - comfort for most passengers in the backseat, etc. I'd think about what your day to day needs are out of the car. If you are single, live in southern cal, don't have hobbies that need cargo space, maybe the M would be a good choice.. I was impressed.

I also had a chance to drive the new M4 three weeks ago, I was Impressed with its performance, but not so much with the ride quality(our roads around Chicagoland are not so good) the S7 feels smother and is more versatile. I must admit I like the new look of the M4 (design) I was a long time BMW fan. I personally would not trade my Audi S7 for the M4/3 they are great cars but not for me anymore, I need a more practical ride.

I have a 2015 S7 on order and never thought about comparing it to an M3 or M4. I test drove a BMW 650 Gran Coupe w/ the 4.4 twin turbo V8 but only because they didn't have a 550 available (same engine) which I was considering. The 650 was a nice ride but didn't think it was worth the extra $$$.
Wouldn't an RS4 or 5 be a better comparison?
