The Arras Red interior package is a "standard option" for the S7 for $3500. No need to pay the extra AE charge.

Finally home; had 9500ci installed with attempt to use the mid city engineering OEM instrument cluster install ; if you are not familiar check this is out it is way cool, but I think we had a burnt out unit so I have to wait for the install to finish and I can take some videos if interested.

Looks great buddy congrats!

Can you expand on what the "mid city engineering" mod is? I looked at the link and it seemed it was just for Mercedes, but I was curious on how I can get Video in Motion on my 2016 S7

Sorry I was typing fast and just wanted to get the pics up. so here is the story. The Escort 9500CI radar detector is a custom "built in " install so you don't have to have an ugly detector hanging from your windshield. In my RS5, for example, the screen and buttons were built into the ashtray so when I closed the ashtray the components were out of sight.. a very clean look. The "workings' of the 9500ci are installed behind the front grill including the Radar and Laser. In my RS5, they installed a little LED light in the instrument cluster and when it turned red I knew there was an alert and the RADAR detector speaks to me so I never ended to see the screen, an if I did, I had to open the ashtray and look down, not exactly the safest.

Now to your question: the MidCity Engineering product is a module that in 2014 became compatible with Audi. It allows integration of the display of 9500ci to be part of the OEM instrument cluster. It sits where the "radio" signal is, and when there is an alert, it replaced the radio signal for a second or two then fades away. The steering wheel buttons can then be used to mute. This wY, THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO CUTS OR DRILLING FOR THSI INSTALL SO ITS EASILY REMOVABLE. Its just real clean look. I think there is a video on the site.

For video in motion, like you are requesting, I thought that as something you can do with VAG-COM, but others can correct me on this, but I thought this was changeable.

Hope that helps

Andrew

I so agree. I had a 2009 S5 and those seats were RED. these are much softer in tone, and VERY pleasing to look at. Not an obnoxious red at all, I really love the look!

The car looks fantastic, Andrewaw.

Can I trouble you to post a picture of the 9500 install? Specifically the dash integration.

I am going to be installing it as well, and I have been trying to decide where to put it. Did you put the display box in the ashtray again? Or do they not even install it because of the dash integration?

Thanks in advance.

Right now the dash module they received is broken, so mid city is sending another one tomorrow. Once that is up and working, I won't need the display box at all. On the rs5 ( I wish I had pics) they built a little plastic " shelf" in the ashtray and the display sat right above the buttons in the ashtray. Looked awesome. Once they get the dash module in I'd be happy to take pics for you.
