22 in wheels
I went to look at some rims today and the guy said I had to get 245-30 for the front and 295-25 for the rear. I am looking at getting 22x9 front and 22x10 rear. Them tire sizes suck and I thought that I would be able to get more tire with 22's. I guess I might want to look at 20's. Can anybody give info on staggared fit and what size tire I should be able to go with if I decide to get 20's or 22's.

Hey There, I just started thinking about rims on my 04' A8 L, and was wondering if you had any websites that you were looking at? all the ones I've been on only show aa max size of 20' rims. Also do you know if putting 22' inch rims ruins the suspension/alters the AWD? Thank you.

Hey superbuytires.com have a nice selection. They dont show 21" rims though for the A8. I am thinking of going with a black lip with silver rim. I want staggered rims with a lip. I also dont want the rims sticking out as much. I want a clean look.

I think that's the car from Kahn's ad or press release for those rims. I was thinking about getting those but not really sure if I like the fat spoke design. Also looking at Vertini Henesseys in 22. Think another guy posted some pics here a while back with Asanti 22s and they look really good IMO, at least after the dechroming.
On getting the rims flush I'm not sure if a staggered setup is good. At least on older cars people always told me it will mess up the torsen system if running different tire size, but I guess it should be all good as long as you have the same rolling diameter back and front. Otherwise go with some quality spacers. If I end up keeping my 20s I'll def go for that option.
Plenty of people running 22s otherwise so it should not be any reliability issue other than perhaps having to renew wear/tear parts more often if you toss on a heavier rim and/or spacers

Anyone out there know if a 22x10.5 ET40 wheel will fit the A8 all around(front and rear)?
I know MTM makes there 21" Wheels in that Offset and width that fit but Im a bit worried about the 22" Wheel fitting in the front.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Stagger is all show no go on most all nose heavy Audis
It further emphasizes understeer/front end push. Technically all the nose heavy Audi's actually need bigger front SMALLER rear to undo those effects. Nobody would do that of course. Thus BMW and other RWD concepts like stagger just don't translate to Audi's for real drivability/performance, excepting the (non front motor) R8.

I got 20's on my 2007 a6 an wouldn't advise putting 22's on it. The ride is good but i wouldn't want it worse an dats what 22's will do. Its flush an look great with 255/35/20 front an back.
