Default Got a CEL related to low pressure fuel system, now what?

So I ran the VCDS scan and picked up the codes shown below. From my research on the boards, it sounds like it may be a faulty G410 fuel pressure sensor that was previously covered by TSB a while back. Agree/Disagree? Thx in advance.

Agree. Assuming no other symptoms like rough running, lack of power or lean codes which would suggest actual physical fuel delivery issue rather than sensor problem. First clean sensor contacts, and if no change then replace sensor and tell us how you get on.

Thanks for the response, I will try cleaning those contacts first before replacing the sensor. Hopefully that'll do it, as the car is running perfectly without any hiccups otherwise, and the CEL has only popped up once or twice in the last month and usually goes away upon the next drive.

Default Agree. Always start from any TSB fixes or updates.

As soon as I touch a part like that, I replace unless very pricy. Why do it twice or break down/have it act up on road somewhere.

Last week while on vacation, go the CEL, then it went away, came back on and went away, got this

012555 - Low Pressure Fuel regulation
P310B - 004 - Fuel Pressure Outside Specification - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100100
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 9
Reset counter: 255
Mileage: 90561 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2015.03.14
Time: 13:27:48

Freeze Frame:
RPM: 739 /min
Load: 42.7 %
Speed: 5.0 km/h
Temperature: 105.0°C
Temperature: 67.0°C
Absolute Pres.: 1000.0 mbar
Voltage: 11.938 V

Since I only got one of the codes as the OP, would it be the G410 sensor?

TIA

Most likely G410 fuel pressure sensor. It's the root cause of various fuel pressure error codes and the part has been revised accordingly.

There is a lot of info here, and a search frequently shows a thread relating to a specific problem. Check this link that was posted ONLY a couple of days ago!!

I ordered the pressure control valve and sensor to remedy the CEL problem and will let you know how it turns out next week.

The low pressure reading could be the tail on the dog. In my experience, one or more of the direct injectors is leaking. When an injector leaks or is stuck open, it will trip a "low pressure" code.

If the motor requires a bit of an extended crank while starting, this is a sign of a fuel dump into a cylinder or 2.

If you have VCDS, look at the fuel trims. This will tell the tale further. More than likely, one or two of the banks is in the negative (reducing fuel).

Good news, if the car hasn't been carbon cleaned, this can be done while the manifold is off of the motor.

Finally resolved the CEL issue with the system lean banks 1 and 2 with replacement of the PCV (pressure control valve). Ended up not replacing the sensor because my engine was pre-direct injection. I did end up replacing the fuel control valve that is in the same position. The little valve regulator was cracked on that part. Lesson here is those parts are probably the culprit, not the MAF as had been suspected or the intake manifold not opening or responding properly.

Cheers!
