Default Map Update Help

Can anyone walk me through the steps on how to update the map from an SD Card?

When i visit the page, Select COMPLETE PACKAGE > PREPARE PACKAGE. The JNLP file downloads.. Is this the file that put in my SD Card and take to the car and run the update? If so, my car does not read it.
If anyone had any insight, it's much appreciated.

You have to open the jnlp file using the Java JDK.

Once it's running it will ask where to download the map update data to and then download it to that location.

How do you navigate to the web page to download the maps? I can't seem to find it. Or maybe it's because I no longer have an active Audi Connect subscription?

You have to have an active Audi Connect subscription to download map updates.

Apparently you can still download map updates, even if your 6-month trial has expired (mine expired two months ago).

I just tried it again, and I was able to download the package. Please see the attached images, you can see my Audi Connect license has already expired, and clicking any service icon on the first page gives me the 'License has expired" message. However when I click "Map update" icon, no expiration message and I was able to continue and download the package.

@discogone... Thanks for the images. This helped me find the place in myaudi and I was able to also do the update even though no active ACP subscription.

BTW, for any Mac folks out there: you can do this on a Mac. You must have Java installed and you must go to the Java settings via System Preference and enable "Java content in the browser" under the Security tab.

You can then run the downloaded .jnlp file to write to your SD card. You must format the SD card using MS-DOS (fat) (< 32GB) or ExFat (>32GB) format and Master Boot Record for the Scheme.

1. Log in myAudi.

2. Click "Audi connect services".

3. If your Q7 is not shown, click the right arrow to select your Q7.

4. Keep clicking the right arrow until you see "Map update". Click "Map update" and continue.

Hope this helps!
