Default 2017 A4 Certified Preowned?

A local dealer has a 2017 A4 Premium Plus w/ Technology Package listed as a certified preowned. It only has about $10k miles. I think it was likely used as a loaner for the dealer. New to Audi but was wondering was everyone's thoughts are on Certified Preowned? Seems like you get up to 6 year/100k warranty which would be nice.

Also, the vehicle is listed for $44k. Does anyone know what a realistic price target would be a CPO vehicle with 10k miles? Seems a bit high to me.

Thank you in advance!

IME, the CPO program is worth its weight in gold.

Hard to comment on pricing on such a new car. BTW, the dealers always have cars like this available. It's not a unique scenario.

Rob, welcome aboard!!

In IL, one can get a CPO P+ with technology pack and cold weather pack for around $41-42k (42k for a car with 3500miles and 42k with 6k miles). Audi Exchange had a few. There were other dealers with cars with similar mileage and price.

I got a brand new P+ with tech and cold weather pack for the price you mentioned.

I recently got a CPO Premium Plus Tech pckg + Cold Weather pckg 2017 A4 in IL (Audi Exchange) with 4.5K miles for $41K (price pre tax and fees). Mine was a early returned lease. The CPO warranty is great, gives you additional 2 years coverage on everything the regular "new car" warranty covers.

I never considered a CPO car before, but I certainly think differently about it now. It can get you into a nicer car for lots less money than a new one and you get that extra warranty.

That is overpriced. I got a new Prestige with Drivers Assistance for $46.5k. I bet you could do better than that with year end pricing on a new car. I would target about $40k for the above car you mentioned and get to $41,000. My logic:

New: 49,500
Discount: -5,000
---------------------
Net: 44,500
Usage: -5,000 (.50 per mile)
---------------------------------
New net: $39,500
CPO: $1,500 (the dealer cost is about $1,000 for warranty. there shouldn't be much maintenance need for this car)
---------------------------------
Target: $41,000

Thing is with the CPO 2017 A4s are most likely all demos of some sort. Think I'd like to stay away from those especially if the price is within $2-3k of each other before taxes and fees.

To provide some context, I think CPOs from Audi are not worth the premium.

I recently purchased a used (not a loaner or lease) A4 P+ with Tech (48k MSRP) with 5,000 miles (originally purchased in May 2016) from a non-Audi car dealer in the mid-Atlantic for $37k +tax, title, registration. Same car, CPO, I could not get an AUDI dealer below $41k. Sorry, I could not rationalize spending $4k + for CPO.

Good luck.

I don't think its that great of a deal unless there are additional discounts/negotiations to be had.

I got my P+, tech package, sports package, 19" wheels, brand new for $44,955.00 after 9.5% discount. MSRP was $49,680.00. The discount took no negotiating at all, btw. I emailed the dealer before hand and they were quick to offer it. I'd shop around if I were you.
