Default Coilpack

Haven't seen too much around, but what is the recommended brand for a new set of coils? It looks like most just get OE

I've only run OEM for my last 6 Audi's - I change them out every other oil change. ECS tuning, quick and easy - $125

We've had our B7 A4 3.2L for 7 years. Never once needed to replace a coil.

Your a lucky guy. Audi recommends on the 2.0T every 35K. I just adopted this for the 3.0T.

Where did you see that?
35k replacement is for spark plugs not coil packs.
They should last the life of the car...I know they had a bad issue a few years back but that was a manufacturing issue that has since been resolved.

My parts house recommends that you replace the trunk lid liner every 25k miles but I suspect that they are trying to rip me off😄

Yes, you are correct, Audi (on paper) only recommends the plugs at 35K but any good Audi shop or better yet a lot of guys here will tell you to replace them sooner than later. It only takes a few minutes to replace them and I guess for me and NEVER having a VAG car (two VWs, six Audis, and a 997 911) not foul a coil pack, I now always replaced them every few oil changes to avoid a problem. When you think about what it does and if your going to be replacing the plugs anyway it just makes perfect sense to change them out. Just because the car runs doesn't mean it's running at its best. Also, nothing on the car is built to last a lifetime, nothing.

I have 65K on my A6 and while I do have the stage one APR chip I have changed the coil packs twice now and both times the packs look less then desirable.
