Default 20" 285/45 all-season run-flat tires vs 21" 285/40 summer tires

i live i a very bad roads area
bumpy and broken

i got the Q7 with the 21" wheels because they look better
and because i remember from my BMW that run Flat tires are stiff
so i chose the 21" with regular tires (i think it's not non flat)

but maybe i did a mistake
how is the 20" vs 21"?

i chose also the "Adaptive chassis package"
thinking that Air suspension will absorbed better
i'm wrong?

Thanks

Air suspension is definitely in your favor, but the lower you go in profile regardless of tire results in stiffer ride. You have .5cm less rubber between you and the road.

right

the question is if 45 vs 40 it's a big different
i can buy new set of wheels and tires
but maybe it's not big diffrent because Run flat tires are stiff compare to normal tires.

I have the 21" Wheels and Sumer Tire Package and recently drove a loaner with the 20" Wheels and run-flats. The non-run flat option is actually smoother even though the tires are lower profile.

Both vehicles have/had air suspension. On the comfort setting the car is very comfortable yet maintains very little body roll.

I had a Mercedes GL350 before and that car was very floaty but had some body shudder when going over potholes etc. I looked at getting another but my last one was not that reliable and cost more than the Audi. I do really wish i could have gotten a diesel but the Q7 is a very nice car.

If ride suppleness is a priority then you could also look at a Range Rover but Land Rovers are not very reliable.

my Q7 not doing great job , maybe it's the 21" wheels , maybe not

the replacement of the Macan Turbo can be also sedan or coupe
i don't need another SUV.

I'm driving a 17 Q7 prestige with adaptive suspension and I can't believe that the ride is so smooth on runflats. My A8 is much louder and less smooth in comparison.

I am with you. I had a BMW with run flats and it took me all of 1 month before I changed to Conti DWS. Soooooo much better ride. If you told me my Q7 had standard tires, I would believe you. A total night and day difference.
