Anyone Know Where Air Pump is on W12 2007?
my great local independent guys are working on a 2007 w12 (does my s8 work), and are having a difficult time finding the air pump location. There is a primary and secondary I believe. Anyone have any idea? Fault thrown is venting solenoid for level control n-111 open or short. dealer has been no help.
Any help would be appreciated!!

On A8 4.2 compressor is in front of the front left wheel and valve block behind the same wheel, both behind the liner. I believe they are at same locations on W12. Easy to check.

can you access one through the front passenger side fog light assembly, i know this pops off and when i removed mine what looks like one of the pumps was visable, worth a check as the fog light assembly pops off with a screwdriver in the top.

I have changed out the suspension pump on my W12, its in the same location as the 4.2. Its behind the Left (driver's side) wheel well. It is more complicated in its placement, but still the same side, I found I had to put the car in lock carrier service position to get it disconnect and out of its mount. More things in the way on the W12. Also differnet part number because of its mounting bracket 4E0616007C, 4.2 is 4E0616007D. Hopefully I have the numbers correct, check before ordering.

If I back up to the error code, I'm suspicious if right question is being asked (as a longtime W12 owner). It said: "venting solenoid for level control n-111 open or short" First, that sort of strikes me as not a VCDS type code or dealer equivalent. What tool is being used? As in, a fair percentage of times in threads the error code information is sub par, starting with sub par generic tools as a recurring theme. Make sure mechanic and related tools are in order here.
Beyond that, fortunately I have not ever had to deal with the compressor. Maybe someone has seen that code description before though? Whether W12, S8, 4.2. FWIW, in general when I see something that says "venting solenoid," my instinct would be the valve block, which is a separate component. That is if I am wading through some unknown tool description, it could be "Pig Latin" for what is actually a solenoid in valve block. Valve block is in the same general area as compressor, and you pull the same USA driver's side fender liner to get at it. Getting it loose or out is relatively easy. BTDT when I leak tested mine w/ a soap spray bottle.

On a W12, the twin secondary air injection system pumps are what are right behind the driver's side fog light grill. Unrelated to the suspension air pump that the OP is trying to find.
